Individual therapy

Individual therapy involves one-on-one sessions to navigate life's challenges by exploring emotions, developing coping skills, setting goals, and improving relationships. It offers personalised support and guidance.

Children & Adolescents

The consultation of a psychologist can be beneficial for both children and their families. This professional support aids in a child's identity development and fosters a positive self-image, boosting self-esteem and confidence. Similar to adults, child clients receive emotional and goal-oriented assistance during sessions. These sessions can address conflict resolution, self-understanding, and generating solutions to daily challenges.

Play therapy facilitates bonding and communication, helping children feel secure and address complex issues like stress, trauma, and family dynamics. Signs like anxiety, academic struggles, mood changes, and behavioral shifts may indicate a need for consultation.

Teens, seeking their identity, may benefit from therapy to manage conflicts and emotions, learn coping skills, and enhance communication. Various issues, such as behavioural changes, trauma, depression, and substance abuse, necessitate therapy.

Good to know : when working in therapy with a child or adolescent in a systemic approach you will (as a parent/caregiver) be part of the therapy too. Simply because you are a part of their environment. I consider this like a collaborative therapy, you, your child and I.

You must be aware that I have to keep a confidential aspect in therapy with anyone. You might feel  unsettled by the quietness or the ‘not knowing’ what’s going on during your child’s therapy. I’m here for you to talk about it.

Adultes

Therapy for adults, also known as adult psychotherapy or counseling, is a collaborative process aimed to talk about a wide range of psychological and emotional challenges.

Through psychodynamic therapy, or schema therapy you can gain insights into your emotions, behaviours, and relationships. Issues like anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and career transitions are common subject covered during a session.

The therapist-client relationship built on trust and confidentiality creates a safe space for self-exploration and personal growth. Therapy encourages individuals to develop healthier coping strategies, fostering progress and positive changes that extend beyond sessions.

Seeking therapy is a positive step toward self-care and self-improvement, and finding the right therapist is pivotal in this journey toward enhanced mental health and a better quality of life.

Walk and Talk therapy is a variation of traditional psychotherapy where sessions are conducted outdoors while walking. This approach has the benefits of movement and fresh air, which can enhance communication and mental well-being. Exercising has a well known positive impact on mental health because your body produces endorphins while walking. Discussing emotions outdoors can be easier for some persons, particularly those who prefer movement over static settings like a therapist’s office or virtual sessions. The method is particularly effective with teenagers and can help navigate challenging topics. Visual distractions during walks can promote engagement and deeper contemplation. 

My clients often feel revitalised after a Walk and Talk session. If outdoor sessions aren’t suitable, traditional settings can be explored. Walk and Talk sessions are weather-dependent and can be rescheduled due to bad conditions. This therapy approach is available for teenagers and adults but not for children, couples, or families.
